Day 12 & 13 Oh oh – computer problems or what!

April 13th, 2009

Blue Screen of Death for my poor little PCI managed to lose everything on my computer yesterday and have just finished re-installing EVERYTHING! I have a course I’m delivering in training tomorrow so must get on with that, but will do my best (which means I’ll succeed) to get the posts updated a bit later.

Happy Easter to All!

Later that day …

Well that wasn’t so bad – a cool 6 hours of head down, butt up and I’ve completely learned what I need to deliver for Acrobat Professional Advanced tomorrow including creating pdf presentations, creating forms and organising the results, digital signatures and optical character recognition of scanned documents amongst other things.  I don’t think I’d even opened this product last week when I said I could train it although I’d used Acrobat Reader, but now I feel like a master - it’s a very good tool!  (hope my boss isn’t reading this).

When I consider that this morning my computer wouldn’t even switch on properly, and then the hard drive was doing its best to give me a hard time and Windows wouldn’t even start without the blue screen of death, I’m pretty pleased that I have everything sorted …

You drove 240km yesterday for a night out?  You’re joking!

This is who I went to see last night in New South WalesFor those avid readers, I apologise for no update last night, my computer died early yesterday so I couldn’t do anything.  Given the circumstances and with my deadline for my learning Acrobat Professional, I did what any self respecting man would do, yup, at 4.30pm I jumped in my car and drove interstate (about 120km) to Tweed Heads in New South Wales to see Jimeoin the Northern Irish comedian – it was very funny.

My best friend’s girlfriend had organised a secret surprise treat for him and I was invited down to join them and a couple of other friends to see the show – I knew it would be great and I didn’t want to let them down so I had to go!

Anyway, you didn’t sign in to hear about that, so I’ll get to the point.

Fast details and how I’ve been feeling, including Bonus feedback from a friend …

  • Energy = 10/10!
  • Focus = 9/10 – not sure I’ll ever get to 100%
  • Chill factor = 8/10 (more about this later)
  • Joie de vivre = 11/10

Sleep: In the mornings, I don’t rush out of bed, as I know that my body probably appreciates that – this is not the norm for me.  My preference is to jump out of bed and put on some loud Krafty Kutts or Ministry of Sound (dance music) when I want to feel pumped, or ABC Radio National if I want to know what’s going on in the world.  This staying in bed is a new factor and I’ve been averaging 7-8 hrs sleep which is more than normal.

Looking forward to a lovely bowl of hot chipsEnergy levels:I feel great!  I am really looking forward to hot chips, and I have had dreams about my father’s Indonesian spare ribs with saffron rice and mixed salad, but I’m really happy continuing this journey.  I heard of a friend today who did something even I wouldn’t do.  Apparently she was a breatharian for TWO YEARS!  She was full of energy and did occassionally have a Milo (malted drink) but for the rest of the time just did water.  I will get this confirmed, however she apparently had to stop as one day when she was drinking water, it wouldn’t stay down as her stomach had started to grow over.  Hmmm…. not my bag baby!

Chill factor: I caught up with Bella today, and she made a lovely comment about my energy.  She said that normally I’m all over the place, running at 100 miles an hour doing so many things at once, but today I was in a completely different space.  We haven’t caught up for about a week so that is what she’s comparing to, and I have to say that I’m pleased of that effect as I know that I can be exactly as she described and don’t feel that’s a positive place to stay.

You did What?  You drank fruit juice when you’re on your water fast?!It was a different flavour of this juice I had last night

Last night when I was driving back from Tweed Heads, I took the precaution of purchasing a bottle of as close to fruit juice as I could find.  I did this as I remember the last time I drove back from the Gold Coast during my fast, I started getting really sleepy (it’s a very boring drive on the motorway the whole way).  I put it on the passenger seat as I was sure the fruit juice/natural sugar hit would spark me up.  After about 25 mins driving, I did notice myself feeling sleepy so I popped the lid and sipped a bit.  It was delightful having the flavours in my mouth and I savoured each sip I had on the way back.  The hiteffect lasted about 15 mins and by the time I arrived back in Brisbane I had drunk half a small bottle .  A couple of strange things happened though as a result of drinking it, namely that I had a handful of headache pangs which I attribute directly to the juice, and the sensation in my stomach was not really that of pleasure and was more of a dull pain compared to the neutral feeling there is most of the time.  Also, the moment I arrived home, I made my way straight to the toilet and did my first poo in quite a while (pretty big if I was a rabbit, but tiny compared to normal).  I assume it kicked off my metabolism as a result of nutrition flowing down my river of life, namely my alimentary canal.

Tomorrow you’re in for a treat!

Once I’ve finished my training tomorrow, I’m going to fix up the final 90% I need to do on my laptop.  In addition, I’ll definitely put up a video as I’ve now lost about 7kgs.  I’ll also update my graphs and add in some other random bits I feel like.

Thanks again for all your email and comment support and unless my weight dangerously keeps falling off, I’ll continue till the end!
