Watch what happens if you don’t eat for 28 days!

April 2nd, 2009

I recently took part in Don Tolman’s ‘Bootcamp for Brains’ on the Gold Coast, Australia.  Don has some great ideas about health, the mind, the healthcare industry and he focuses primarily on using ancient wisdom in today’s world.

He talks about foods being clearly designed to show us humans what they’re good for. Some examples are:

walnutWalnuts – look like a brain, two hemispheres and full of Omega 3, 6 and 9 – great brain food.

celery1Celery – looks like a bone, breaks like a bone and is 21 % sodium – the same as a bone!

avocardoAvocado – looks like the womb or cervix, is great for balancing female hormones and shedding excess weight (especially after giving birth) and takes 9 months from blossom to ripened fruit!!! (he has a list on his website if you’re interested: Don Tolman Wholefoods

Anyway, as a result of going along, I realised that the health implications of a fast were massive compared to the apparent fear we have that we’ll starve to death. So I thought I’d put it to the test.

Two days ago I moved on to juices only (carrot, apples, beetroot and lemon predominantly) and will continue this for 1 week. After that I’ll do 2 weeks on water only and then finish off with another week of juices to get my body used to food again.

I’m making a short video each day to let you know how I go if you’re interested and you can see and hear about the results I get.

I’ll explain more about fasting and the reason it is confusingly considered a strange or unhealthy thing to do in this day and age.

Word of the day: To fast – meaning, to Make Strong.

I am so amazed at the difference in your apperance since day one. I have printed and taped your “before anf afte” pictures on my desk at work.. youhave become my inspriation. I am five daysinto my fast. I only drink tea and water. I did fall off the wagon yesterday (12.15.09) I ate a hard boiled egg, and about 2oz of cheese and broclie soup. I guess ihave to start fromthe top. I think seeing your results is just the inspration I need. I have never seen anyone fast before… not successfully. I aslo go to the gym nightly. This helps me to stay on track as well.

Thank you for doing your fast and showing it to the public.

    Hi Theresa,
Thanks for your message and glad I can be an inspiration for you. A key thing I’d encourage you to do is to get in to a place of changing habits for after the fast too. Remember that this is an excellent way to improve your health (by allowing your body to get out rid of toxins etc), but also allow yourself to relax a bit so just do very light exercise at the gym – I wouldn’t recommend Pump sessions or lots of weights! I’m sending you positive vibes and realise that if at any moment you need that little bit of inspiration, I’ll be right there with you, smiling and cheering you along so you get the result you want.
    David :o )
P.S. I really recommend making your 5 day plan for after the fast now and be really strict on it for the first few days as that is the time your habits are supported.
